Kranji Marshes

There’s a nature reserve in Kranji Marshes.

Damming the Kranji River created an important freshwater marshland. NSS proposed a conservation plan in 1990. The Singapore Green Plan 1993 accepted this. 54 ha of wetlands and woodland. It took NSS and PUB and NParks years to restore the wetlands. In 2005, it was renamed Kranji Marshes Park. In 2016, the parkland opened. The area is home to several endangered bird species.
