Tampines (/tmpnis/) is a planning area and residential town in Tanah Merah, Singapore’s East Region. The planning area is bounded on all sides by Bedok and Paya Lebar, Pasir Ris, Changi, and the Singapore Straits. Tampines New Town is in the Tampines planning area. Tampines is the third most populous new town in Singapore, after Bedok and Jurong West. It is the East Region’s regional hub.
