Boat House Garden is a small park near the mouth of Singapore River (CBD). Once there were two iconic Merlion statues and their miniature form.
The Singapore Tourism Board created the first Merlion Park near the Singapore River’s mouth in 1964. On September 15, 1972, then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew unveiled the Merlion statue. With the Anderson Bridge in the background, the original Merlion and mininature statues. In memory of Lim Nang Seng (November 1971 – August 1972). It’s 8.6m tall and 70 tons.
